No boundaries for Adam Lambert

May 19th, 2009 · 1 Comment

My wife had been trying to vote for Adam Lambert, but with no luck.  Lines had been really busy.

I missed the show myself tonight.  I had to take my kids to Library so that my wife could watch the show in peace. :) I even couldn’t find videos of his performance (May 19th, 2009) on youtube. But I managed to find one youtube video via seattle times.

However, Kris Allen’s video were not taken off.

Very nice…We can wait and see the result.  Oh by the way I am also for Adam Lambert.

Keep 100% of revenue

May 14th, 2009 · No Comments

Thats right.  Flixya.com shares 100% of revenue generated by the content you upload.  It’s the first and only networking social site to share 100% of revenue.

I like the site and its structure.  Flixya is very user friendly.  You can upload, embed videos or photos and even create blogs.

There are other revenue sharing sites as well including revver.com, docstoc.comI used to use revver a lot, but these days they are not doing well.  I even made money with revver in the past.  They share 50% of the revenue.

But it doesn’t hurt to share your videos/photos on more than one site.  The more you promote the better it will be. .

Good Luck.

The End :) from Flix Ya on Vimeo.

Are you loyal to Twitter?

April 28th, 2009 · 2 Comments

Twitter! Twitter!Twitter!  That’s what you were hearing a lot this past few weeks or a month.  Twitter has been on the hot seat for last few months, specially when celebrities like Ashton Kutcher and Oprah are making headlines.   Many have been joining Twitter, but according to the recent Nielsen Online research ,  over 60 percent of Twitter users are not using Twitter after 30 days of joining Twitter.  Unlike Facebook, and Myspace Twitter has lower rate of retention.  Twitter still has to make its own money…

Google remembered Samuel Morse’s Birthday

April 27th, 2009 · No Comments

When I went to Google today it looked different.   It had a different logo/banner instead of actual logo of Google.  Then when I put my mouse over the image/logo it read “Samuel Morse’s Birthday” with a link to Samuel Morse.   Samuel Morse born in 1791 was the American creator of a single wire telegraph system and Morse Code.”

Susan Boyle Lied

April 23rd, 2009 · 2 Comments

I knew something was not right when she was appearing on the stage. It felt like a set up. I am sure the producers knew her ability to sing as well.
She told the judges that she had never kissed anyone in her life. That was a lie. She has appeared in numerous talent shows in the past where she used to use the same line. She told a reporter in UK “That was made as a joke! Never been kissed? I’ve never stopped.”

Blogs around the world also didn’t stop getting on her.

Adsense Video Units to be retired

April 22nd, 2009 · No Comments

“Adsense Video Units to be retired.” That was the subject of my email I received from adsense yesterday. So yes it is finally going away. I had also tried adsense video units but was not satisfied with the result.
Below is the body of the email..

“We’re writing to let you know that we’ll be retiring AdSense video units at the end of April. After reviewing this feature, we’ve found that it hasn’t been performing as well as we had hoped, so we’ve decided to focus our efforts on other opportunities to help publishers monetize their sites.

We recommend that you begin removing the video unit code from your pages as soon as possible, to ensure that you can take advantage of the available ad space on your pages. At the end of April, any remaining Leaderboard or Skyscraper video units will begin directing users to YouTube.com, while other video unit sizes will automatically be changed to standard embedded YouTube players. These standard video players will display top YouTube videos, but you won’t generate earnings from them once this change occurs.

If you’d still like to display free video content from YouTube, you can do so through YouTube.com directly: visit any specific video page for the embed code, or sign in to your YouTube account to create a playlist. For more information about embedding YouTube videos, please visit http://www.google.com/support/youtube/bin/answer.py?answer=57788. Alternatively, if you have less than three ad units on your page, you may prefer to replace your video unit with a regular ad unit.

Although video units are being retired, other video offerings within AdSense aren’t affected. Video ads may still appear on your pages and AdSense for video is still available for eligible publishers. If you’d like more information about the retiring of video units, please visit our Help Center at https://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/topic.py?topic=12182.

Thanks for your support of video units in the past, and we appreciate your patience and cooperation.

Sincerely,

The Google AdSense Team ”

Over 1 million is after Ashton Kutcher on Twitter…

April 17th, 2009 · No Comments

What are you doing? That’s the title of a popular site “Twitter.” “Twitter is a service for friends, family, and co–workers to communicate and stay connected through the exchange of quick, frequent answers to one simple question: What are you doing? ” Its like a micro-blogging service where anyone with an account can send their updates under 140 characters. Lately Twitter has been all over the news.
Even celebrities use Twitter and as a matter of fact Ashton Kutcher became the first member of Twitter to have more than 1 million followers. He beat CNN. CNN congratulated him for that. He is even going to donate 10,000 mosquito nets which was his pledge.

Why do you Blog?

April 16th, 2009 · No Comments

I think its a fair question. Seriously, why do you blog?
–Is it because others are blogging?
–To make money?
–Share ideas (with no intention to make money)
–No clue…

Well there could be more questions…But you got my main question–right?

As far as I m concerned, I blog mainly to share my thoughts/ideas. I think its a great way to express yourself and share what you know and also can also learn.

But I think only 5% of all the bloggers blog for passion (i.e. not with an intention to make money). There is no denial that one can not make money off blogging. But there are many factors that a blogger should take into consideration. I will be writing about some of those in the coming days..

Till then–
